Wrestling, Volleyball and Track

So, my older ones within these past few months decided that they were giving up soccer.  Adriana wants to pursue her Volleyball journey.  She made the club team for Beaumont, which is AWESOME!  She did amazing on the high school volleyball team last season.  I was a proud Mama for sure!  Today she texted me and told me that she tried out for the track team at school.  I guess we will see where this leads her next.  She is currently still playing for her AYSO fall team, they made area playoffs.  She is also no practicing for her club team.  She is going to through track into the mix also.  My crazy girl. But I guess I would rather her be busy than too much time on her hands getting herself into trouble.

Anthony has decided to quite the HS soccer team due to the coach just being a jerk.  I don't blame him at all.  He has wanted to be on the wrestling team for the past 2 years.  He finally went out for the team.  Currently the coach has told him that he won't be wrestling for a while.  I talked with a friend of mine who's daughter is on the team also.  She said she will put a word in for him.  We will see what happens.  He's pretty excited to be learning the moves and techniques.  He is getting into the weights and what not.

I guess I'll keep ya'll updated as I can!

Back to the inhaler we go

My poor little girl has been coughing until she gags every night, during the night and in the morning.  I noticed that she did it when running around with her brother or friends also.  So, I took her into the Dr. today who said that it most likely is her allergies and asthma acting up =(
She put her on Zyrtec and both of her inhalers Qvar and Albuterol.  My poor baby, I hate having her on these meds, it scares me!  My 'step-dad' passed away from his asthma issues and it just is scary.
It was a crazy busy day, no particular reason, just was.  Then I was planning on going to Yucaipa to drop off a bible study book and some PC orders, but laid down at 2pm and passed out until 3:58!  GUESS I WAS TIRED!
Got up and made a very yummy dinner (maybe I'll blog it tomorrow).  Adi had practice and I had to get to the store for some essentials, we had absolutely no fruit, except for 1 banana. Mama needs her fruits & veggies!!!
Went to Albertsons and got some great deals, spent under $50 for 4 pkgs of chicken, 4 boxes of cereal, 2 pineapples, 8 cucumbers, 2 bottles of coffee creamer, chips and some other things.  Not Bad if I do say so myself =)  Then to Walmart to get the other stuff.
Got home and realized I forgot Dee's medicine..DUH MELISSA!  Guess I need more than just a 2 hour nap when I'm not getting enough sleep for my brain to function, egh?
We are down to 2 days left of the school year.  I'm kind of excited, kind of sad.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE having my babies home, the lazy days of summer and just enjoying each other.  Most moms can't wait for their kids to go back to get out of their hair, but I really do love having them home with me.  I don't like the not having a schedule and routine, but whatev.
Alrighty, so I'm outta here, I'm going to try to get some good sleep and maybe blog tomorrow when I have some brain power!

30 days of Thankfulness ~Day 5

Today's post is dedicated to my baby boy...Anthony Jose Herrera
As much as I'd like to strangle him lately, he's still my baby boy!
So, tonight we went to his Friday Night Football Game yh7ujiu7jmukm8uk,iink,b8iubvjubu, hyn nh nhngh gn nhgtb bgnjbnjnjum
And that's what I mean by wanting to strangle him, as that would be his doing...
Anywho, he truly makes me one proud Mama! Tonight's game he not only walked away with a 52-6 winning game, but he also made captain!!!!
He has really embarrassed his position in football and is really excelling in it. He is also working hard to keep his grades up. His coach has had him going to study hall everyday after school before he goes to pracitce.
His new interest is wrestling, but we will see what happens. His soccer friends are really wanting him to go and try out for the goalie position on the HS team. Which, we all know hands down, he kicks butt in that goal box. He has no fear and for a majority keep those balls out of the box.
Now about Anthony, my baby...
He is the sweetest big brother, he truly is. He loves his role as a big brother and knows that he has 3 little ones looking up to him. He's not the perfect kid, but he really isn't a bad kid, never has been. He loves his little brother and baby sister. And recently has been embracing Adriana. For some reason, those two have finally clicked! He even started training her for spring select. He wants her to get out there and kick butt!
I mentioned this before, but after every football game Delayna wants her Bobo. So I will take her down to him and he will call for her to come out to him. What a precious, precious memory they will both cherish as they grown older.
Dominic and him shared a room for a little over 2 years. When we moved into this new house, Domi got his own room. He was soooo sad and didn't want to sleep alone. But he's adjusted and got used to it. But there have been a few times that I will get up in the morning to wake him up and find him in Ant's room on the floor with his pillows & blankets. There have been about 2 times that I have gone in looking for him and couldn't find him. After searching the house, I found him tucked into bed with Ant, snuggled up next to him. Ant told me he went in there and said, "Bobo, I had a bad dweam, can I sweep wif you?" AWE, HOW SWEET! Ant just pulled the covers up and tucked his baby brother in next to him.
This boy melts my heart!
He has the greatest aspirations of becoming a professional football player and is very focused...just to keep him there.
He's a good kid with a huge heart! One day, I will be proud to announce this kid will be going on to the NFL!
Here's a photo of him goin up as captain for his game last night #33

Time

It seems as though I don't have enough of it in a day, or at all lately! I just realized I haven't posted since school ended in July and here we are finished with 2 weeks of the new school year already.
I also noticed, I never blogged about Easter this year. I found pics of my Gramma & Dee that I never posted...what the heck!?!?
Well, I am sick today & plan on being home all day tomorrow and possibly Monday, so let's see how much I can update.
I may be back dating some of these, so they correspond with the correct days. Anyhoot...TTYL

Sports Orientation...My little boy is growing up =(

Didn't know how else to title this, but with what I'm gonna talk about.
Wednesday night Anthony & I went to the High School Sports Orientation. While it was pretty lame (due to the speaker they invited) it was kind of a sad/proud moment.
I sat with Kathleen's Mom (Ant's main squeeze's mom) and Linda Keck (Ant & her son Zach went to elementary school together). During the meeting I couldn't help but wander in thought about My Boy starting his new journey in life.
They showed pictures of kids who have achieved great things in their sports. One boy from Beaumont High now plays for the San Fransisco 49ers, another girl was presented an award...here is a blurb from the BHS sports website:
CHAMPION!!!

Junior Amanda Hendey has won the first state championship in Beaumont High School history. Amanda won the 126-lb. weight class at the girls' state wrestling championships at Hanford HS on Saturday by pinning her opponent in the 2nd period. Congratulations, Amanda! BHS is proud of you!
They spoke so much on the fact that they are very supportive of their athletes and want the best for them. How awesome to hear that? Especially from school staff!
After the speaker we were able to go meet the coaches. First was the football coach. I spoke to him regarding the rumors of the coaches not "allowing" the boys to play HS football and AYSO. He said that he would support Anthony, if that's what he wants to do, but wants Anthony at the practices and games. Which is understandable and already discussed to us with Lenny. Lenny (Ant's tournament soccer coach) is willing to allow Ant to practice with the football team during the week to get his conditioning and play him in the games on Saturday. Which is AWESOME! This is an awesome opportunity for Anthony to play both sports! OH, and the coaches to support him!
Next we went & spoke with the soccer coach (who just so happens to be the husband to Ant's old PE coach that kicked him out of her class. I think she had a crush on him & that's why she removed him, but whatever). He said that he wants Ant to only play soccer, not football. But that if he is skilled enough that he would work with him to play both sports. He is only taking 5 freshmen, so he will be holding try outs. He is going to have the boys go 1v1 to see their skills. Looking at the list, Ant will do really good up against the boys. We saw 2 boys that he would have good competition with.
After walking away, we were talking about GPA's and scholarships. Ant is stuck on "only needing to carry a 2.0 gpa". But if he wants a scholarship, he needs to focus on a 3.0 or higher. Which he is VERY capable of!
So, we are both really excited! I would LOVE to see my boy get a scholarship to college. He wants to go to USC, but God knows where he will be placed.
Looks like we are going to have our work cut out for us, but it will ALL be worth it in the end!
3 weeks of school left & my boy will be graduating from Jr. High!

Dominic is 5!

WOW, I honestly can't believe my 'baby' is 5 already! Time has flown SO fast!!!
I won't get all mushy on you, but wanted to share our day with you & document my memories...
He asked if I could take cupcakes to his class & of course, I did. Jose and I went to his class about 30 mins before they got out. He was excited for us to be there (as well as the other kids in the class) but he was not happy that the attention was being drawn to him. He is so shy is crazy!
Dominic requested that we have spaghetti for dinner (remember last year he requested mac n cheese, my crazy boy!). So we made him his dinner then headed off to church.
When we were driving home from church he was telling us that the kids in the class sang Happy Birthday to him. He was kinda gitty about it, but I know for a fact he was shy & embarrassed. Silly boy of mine!
When we got home we did his birthday cupcakes & sang Happy Birthday to him. Here's some pics to sum the day up with...

Delayna & Dominic playing before bed

He HATES getting his pic taken, just like his father!

Me, munchin on my mini cupcake

Bobos playing Madagascar Cart Racing, his present

This was his hat that he wore all day at school,,,Too Cute!

Bobo lit his candles & we sang to him...he turned ALL the lights off on his own =)

My Babies, I can't believe how big they ALL are!

Of course Mama Chula had to have a mini cupcake of her own

This is his 'girlfriend' Rachel (the dark haired girl). They were too shy to take a pic together

Not happy about me taking a pic, nor the kids singing to him

Kids in his class

His friends waiting to sing to him

Well, until next year...

Bed Time Story

I was getting Dominic & Delayna ready for bed tonight and reading them a new book we got. It is a Nemo book about him going to school, perfect with school starting next week.
Well, I was reading where Mr. Ray asks Nemo where he lives, and in the book Nemo answers 2 times. When I was reading, I was really messing up, because I know how to say it, but reading it is, well a bit more tricky.
While I was attempting to pronounce ANEMONE, Dominic shouts out...
"Ok, Ok, Don't Hurt Yourself."
OMG, Adriana & I busted up laughing. I could not get my composure back to finish the book.
Here is the clip from the movie if you haven't seen it or don't remember...
Now just picture my little Domi saying this to me!

Oh Me, Oh My!

We went school shopping today.
8 hours, 10+ stores, lots of money, just a few outfits later & we are still not done!
Jose, the kids & I are absolutely wiped out from the extremely long day, but we did get some good deals & learned more about our children's taste.
Anthony is totally into this whole skull thing. He even tried to buy a t-shirt with naked women on it...I THINK NOT!
Adriana is all into this whole 80's fashion with brite colors & peace signs...Ugh once again...I THINK NOT!
So we settled & agreed on some nice clothes for Ant.
I convinced Adriana to look at some other shirts in a totally different style that she liked. Definitely girlie and I LOVE that!
I still have to go get Adriana some pants/capris/skirts, basically whatever I can find. Some more shoes, because a girl can NEVER have enough & accessories...Yes, We are accessorizing!!!! I actually think I have some accessories in my caboodles that she can have, but we will see.
Ant still needs some shoes, but we pretty much finished him off today.
Dominic is done also. I would like to find him some sandles he can wear to school, but it's not a necessity.
I finally went to a store I've been told about 1,000 times called C2:8. It was an awesome store, but quite expensive! Then 'Eric' striked up a conversation with me & I started sharing Robin's story to him. In the middle of the store, he asked me to pray with him. Wow, I was shocked, but blessed!

Oh, Ant just informed me he needs undershirts, boxers & socks and Little needs bras...guess I'm not done.
Well for now, it will do.

AWESOME NEWS!!!!

I am totally doing the Happy Dance!!!! I got a letter in the mail informing me that Dominic got placed into a morning Kindergarten Class!!!!!
I know, probably no biggie to you, but it was a huge burden on my shoulders. Just things that my days face, having him in a morning class would work so much better for me. They told me that the chances were slim to none.
But, guess what...I am a child of the MOST HIGH GOD & He gives me favor =)
K, off to do my happy dance some more...

Getting ready for Kindergarten

My little bits had his kindergarten physical yesterday.
He is so sweet! He knew he was gonna get shots & was asking me to tell the Dr that he doesn't want his shots...Poor thing!
We went in & he got weighed & measured...38lbs & 42"
Then we had to have him pee in a cup...poor little man! He wasn't sure what to do, but luckily he went with me many a dr visits while pregnant with Delayna & saw mama do it.
After that task, we "played a game" where he had to stand FAR away from the wall & tell the nurse the shapes that he saw...Come to find out his right eye is maturing faster than his left. By the age of 7 his eyes should be completely developed & we'll test again.
We went into the room & the nurse gave us a gown. Dominic was not happy with needing to strip down to his chones. He couldn't understand why he had to wear it & he was complaining he was cold.
Here's a pic of him in it...I couldn't resist

The NP came in and asked him a ton of questions, which he did really well answering. I think he would have done much better if he was seeing his normal Dr, but she wasn't available.
The NP had Dominic jump on one leg without any assistance & he couldn't do it...It was hillarious!!!
She was done with the physical & I started to tell her about his little cold he has had. Well come to find out, it's not a little cold, it's bronchitis! UGH! He is now on an antibiotic & is back on the inhaler for his asthma...It really stinks!
She went out & sent in the nurse...Those poor nurses, they get the hard part, IMO. The nurse was telling Dominic what she was going to do & showed him the tray. She asked him for his finger, just to do the finger prick & he already started freaking...remind me next time, taking Delayna is NOT the best thing when Dominic is getting shots!
So, I talked to him calmly & told him that it wouldn't hurt & it would be real fast...He didn't fall for it.
She pricked his finger & he jumped,,,my poor boy! He was ok though.
Then she told him to lay down on his back. Asked me to go to his head and explained to both of us that she was going to hold his legs & wanted mama to "hug" him while holding his arms down. Good thing I did, because his arms went flailing when the shot went in!
I had to hold Delayna, sitting on the exam table, while I "laid" ontop of Domi.
The nurse was SUPER fast, but it didn't help that pain at all! He screamed like nobody's business!
She got him up real fast & I was able to just hold him while he cried. But then Delayna started in too...OH BOY!
We got his prescription, got him dressed & we headed out. I asked him if he was hungry & of course he was, so through his tears, he took a breath and informed me he wanted Chicken Nuggets & fries from Mc Donald's. So, off to the golden arches we went...
We came home. Just as I was getting him out, Grammie pulled in & the faucet was turned back on...Boy does he know how to work her! She let him take over the t.v. after he ate his nuggets.
So, now we have to head out to pick up his birth certificate & he'll be all ready to start school August 24...

A chain link fence did it

I picked Anthony up from school today, he gets in and tells me, "Mom, I think I need stitches."
I'm like, "WHAT!?!"
So, he lifted up his shirt, which has an obvious rip in it and shows me this huge gash in his right shoulder.
I asked what happened and he told me that he was running to lunch and ran into a chain link fence with the alligator lock. The lock caught his shirt, ripped his arm, it threw him around where his chest hit the pole and gave him a huge bruise on his chest, his head hit the fence, scratched him by his ear, he has a bump right under his right temple and then fell to the ground where his arm is scratched up.
Oi Vei! This kid!
At first I was worried, then VERY upset that no one from the school called me. HELLO, my son has a gash in his arm that might need stiches, his head was hit right under his temple and I'm sure the wind was knocked out of him w/ that bruise on his chest and NOBODY called me!?!
So when we got home, I tended to his wounds, which all they did was place a bandaid over the gash.
Well, come to find out, when I finally was able to talk to the lady that treated him (I was tossed to 4 different people..I tell ya, NOT a happy Mama!), she explained to me that he came in and just showed her the "scratch" that was on his arm.
Ok, I know my son is tough, and not a cry baby, but like I told her, make a call home and let me know that he has been hurt. She appologized and assumed by the way he was acting that he was fine and just got a scratch. She also informed me that it was busy in the health office at the time and now knows how "little or big" the situation, she needs to take time to meet everyone's need and not just brush them off.
That made me feel good. She at least cares enough to correct it, and I felt better about the situation.
So, after I hung up with her, I called Urgent Care and made an appt to get him in.
We went down there and the Dr said that the gash was left for too long and that stitches wouldn't do anything for it. So she just put antibiotic on the scratches (I could have done that at home & saved the money from his co-pay). Then she checked his jaw, which at that point he informed her that his jaw was bothering him. She said just to keep an eye on it.
**The Dr. was very insistent on him telling her the truth. She kept asking him, "are you sure you aren't being bullied", "are you sure you weren't running from someone", "are you sure your doing ok in school and no one was trying to beat you up", "are you sure no one else did this to you". He explained to her that if someone were to try to hurt him, he would have been expelled or suspended for fighting with the injuries. This kid!**
Then as I warned him...
He got the dreaded tetnis shot! But he begged the nurse not to put it in his butt cheek.
She told him that they do it in the arm, and he was VERY relieved...That was hillarious! All he kept worrying about was getting a shot in his butt...LOL
So all in all, he will be fine.
My tough kid, wonder whats going to happen next year when he starts his journey in football. LORD, give me strength & patience while waiting in many 'a Urgent Cares!!!

Devin's First Day Of School

My little Devins got to start his first day of pre-school. He is going to a Christian School in Banning. So he has to wear a little uniform, that is completely adorable!
I went & took some pics of him, but couldn't go in, because I was in my jammies :)
So here's some cut pics of my Devins...

My Beautiful Girl

Then since Dominic didn't start school, due to MANY obstacles and not being able to get schedules etc in order. So I promised myself & Dominic that we were going to start our own 'school' at home.
So for the first week he is learning the letter 'D' and the color Green.
Here he is doing his work...

School Updates

Well, Anthony has been doing REALLY good in school!
He has a 3.4gpa and is really blowing Jose and I away!
He came to us last week and told us about an oral report that he had to do this week.
So Sunday night we helped review and prep him.
Jose went downstairs to the computer with him and gave him pointers, etc.
Well, Monday Anthony went to school and to his surprise wasn't called to do his report.
He came home and told us and was explaining how this one boy got an A on his report.
Anthony was telling us that this kid is REALLY smart and going on about how he doesn't think that he could ever get an A on a report like this.
Well, Wednesday he came home and informed us about his report.
He was called on today, presented and waited for his grade.
He got an A- *WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO*
We are so very proud of him!

Adriana is doing MUCH better than Jose and I expected.
We met with her teacher Thursday evening to go over her progress and Mrs. Riley said that she is doing very well. For the most part she has all 3's (interpreted into a B).
She has some things that she needs to stay ontop of,but for the most part, she is doing really well!

I have the most awesome kids EVER!!!!
