Jingle Buddy, day 3

This morning Delayna woke up looking all over for JB.  She finally found him in the kitchen by the coffee pot, in a cup, eating marshmallows and full of sugar.
Honestly, we weren't sure what he was doing.  So after a phone call to our Papa, he answered our question.  Looks as though JB thought he would help Papa make this coffee this morning and got caught off guard by Papa getting up so early.  Papa thanked him for trying to help and released him of his duties.  JB just stuck around watching Papa and eating marshmallows.

In her Papa's arms...

Delayna is such a spoiled baby. I don't mean in a bad way. She is SO loved by all of us and is just a spoiled little girl with love. Out of everyone, she adores her Papa! He has always been the only one that can get her to sleep, and it's always done in his arms.

Mama, Papa me go wunning

Jose has been off for quite a few weeks now. He got ants in his pants and decided to start running.
So this morning, Jose was getting ready to go run and Delayna wanted to go with him. She kept trekking him, Papa me go wunning. It was too cute!
So I told Jose to take her in her stroller...she's so stinken cute, she went and got her baby stroller. Isn't she the cutest!?!
Needless to say, she didn't get to go with her papa :-(

Spotlight On Delayna

Just because she's cute =)
Here she is 'eating' a mango from last night. We haven't really been feeding her like the typical way your supposed to. I have been giving her foods here & there. Last night I gave her some avocado & Jose insisted that she have some 'fruit'.

Here she is from Saturday. We went to a surprise 50th birthday party

Here's Bobo wearing Delayna...LOVE IT!

James & Taffy Brock had this shirt made for her before she was born.
I absolutely LOVE it!

Tonight I gave her some rice cereal & decided to make her some apple-pears.
She LOVES to attack her spoon when she's done eating

Then Papa gave her & Bits a bath

Nothing like a clean baby

She is the only daddy's girl in this house

A sick boy & trip to the hospital...

Our poor boy has been SICK!
Dominic woke up a few times during the night Saturday-Sunday. We got up early Sunday morning and started getting ready for church. While I was upstairs, Dominic & Adriana were eating breakfast. I hear coughing and Adriana yells, "Mom! Dominic's throwing up!"
I run downstairs to find Adriana being the sweetest sister helping Dominic get sick into a bowl.
I took it over & she helped me clean up the mess.
She's definitely going to be a Dr, if she can already handle cleaning up her little brother's vomit!
I got him changed & finished getting ready for church, thinking it was just a 'one time thing'. I came down stairs to find Dominic laying on the couch looking like something definitely came over him.
I sat down next to him & he was burning up!
I took his temp & i was 102.3. Gave him Motrin & got the cool rag on him.
Jose, Anthony, Adriana, Delayna & I ended up going to church & I left Bits with my mom for the morning.
She called just as church started & said he was burning up.
When we got home, he was still hot.
He wasn't able to keep anything down, not even his meds.
I called up Noe to see if we could get a bottle of Perfect Water aka "our miracle water", because I knew that his body would hold that. We got it & sure enough it worked & he kept it down.
We fought his fever all night with it spiking up to 104.3 around 1am.
Monday it wasn't getting better, so I called Dr. Cuni's office & the nurses told me to call Urgent Care & get him in. By now, his fever spiked again to 104.6*.
We took him into Urgent Care & the Dr was an idiot! I don't like saying that about Dr's, but this guy told me nothing more than what I already knew. He was telling a mother of 4 to keep the meds in, bath him, put a rag on his neck etc... DUH!
Then he sent us on our way with no testing or anything.
A few hours later his fever was up again & he started complaining about his neck hurting...
HIGH ALARM!
So we made a phone call to Glenda to get the prayer chain going & headed out to Redlands Community Hospital with Delayna in tow...
We got there at 9:30pm, registered & waited & waited & waited & waited!
The hospital was PACKED & we were the bottom of the pot!
I can write a whole post about the experience at the hospital, but I wont bore you.
So, after a blood draw (from the same phlebotomist that took my blood when I had Delayna), an IV, a chest x-ray & almost doing a spinal tap on my boy, it was determined that he has a viral infection.
Here's a pic of him with his IV,,,not happy

Here's Papa & his boy, trying to rest a bit. It was SO very noisey, everytime either Dominic or Delayna would fall asleep, they would wake up within minutes!

The Doctor, even though took forever to do anything, was an awesome Doctor who really did care about our little man. Just before releasing us he was just hanging out with us talking.
We were released at 3:30am and headed home to get some much needed rest!
It was a horrible night, but I am thankful that he didn't have meningitis.

3 Mos Already =(

So this post is about 3 weeks late, but I've been doing other things lately.
My girl is 3 months old already! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by!
She is doing 95% better with her colic & all together fussiness! She even fell asleep, in her carseat at church yesterday! Now that was a miracle! She can not stand her carseat, but is doing better!
She is interacting a lot more, talking, cooing & about ready to roll over! When she wakes up, she rolls herself, but hasn't quiet gotten to where she rolls over. She's also nawing on everything she can get into her mouth. I think teeting is on the horizon.
She still hasn't gone to the doctor, as I'm still fighting with them. They claim I didn't send "xyz" or never recieved, "abc"...All together a major pain!
But, she is growing nicely & doesn't seem to have any problems. I also planned on delay vaccinating her. I just have done LOTS of research & don't understand why the Dr's insist on shooting these poor babies with major concoctions every 2 months. Anyways, that's it for now. Here's some pics of my big girl...

This is Delayna & I at the LIFT conference we went to April 23-25th. She did awesomely good & I had a true revelation while there!

This is Delayna from today 5.4.09 sitting outside in her bouncer while I BBQ'd. Jose was out with her when I ran in to get seasoning & I came out to her sitting up watching her papa.

This was taken on her 3 month birthday. She looks like she's yawning, but she was eating her butterfly.

I forgot to add that I noticed a brown spot on the left hand corner of her right eye. I hope they don't turn brown!

All about Papa

I just have to say that my husband is the BEST father! As I type, he is playing Wii bowling with the kids. There are days that he doesn't nearly get as much time with the kids as he wants to, but he tries his hardest! Here are some pics & stories from the past few days.

Jose came home this afternoon from a VERY long & hard day. He had to go out and get his truck ready for work for tomorrow. Well, Dominic went out with him & "helped him".

Yesterday, Jose got home from work and saw Oscar out running around. So he told Anthony to go get his motorcycle and go get Oscar. Anthony came back empty handed. Jose ended up taking the motorcycle out to get him & this is how he came home...

Then after "rescuing" Oscar. He came in to have some one on one time with his baby. Here's some pics I got after she feel asleep on him.

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

I have a TON of catching up to do here on my blog, but I can't seem to find time to actually sit for a period of time & do it. I jump on the computer & check my facebook & email, but then I'm running again to do "xyz".
I thought I was gonna get on & do some catching up tonight, since everyone (I mean EVERYONE) is asleep, but I seem to be too drained myself. Not to mention drugged up on Benadryl & Pamprin for my allergies & pain in my back/neck/head/ear.
Well, here's some pics of Delayna, since I know that's what everyone is wanting to see lately...

Resting in her Papa's arms at sissy's soccer game this past Sat.

This was from tonight. I needed to get my white chonies/understuff out of the drier so I could put the darks in. Well, I had to do something with Little Miss and decided to put her in the basket too. She liked it until I pulled her out & laid her ontop (that pic will come later)

I hope you all have a blessed week & remember that Our Lord and Savior died upon that cross so that we could live.

Happy Valentines Day!

Well, the after anyways. I was on a cleaning spree yesterday, so we didn't even get showered until later.
Today we went to church. I actually got ready before Jose and we were out of the house on time...WOOHOO!
I dressed Delayna in her Valentines outfit that Mike & Brittany got her, so I had Jose take pics.

She lost it!

Delayna finally lost her umbilical cord...YEAH!
It was cut really low and it seemed that it was never going to fall off. I saw it this morning and it was just hanging by a string. I changed her around 6pm and noticed it was gone. I couldn't find it anywhere. The kids & I were all looking for it. It's just disappeared.

So, since she lost her cord, she is going to get an official bath tonight!
While we were eating dinner, she gave Jose a wonderful surprise that ran up her back. He changed her & ended up laying on the couch with her.
Here is a pic that I took from my phone. Hope you can see it. *I'm really frustrated that I dont have a camera!!!!*
They are both passed out.... =-}

Delayna's A Week Old

I can't even believe a week has come and gone. A week ago today I was overwhelmed with emotions of being blessed with another beautiful baby girl. I hoped and prayed for another girl, but also knew that what the Lord was blessing me with was another child, no matter the sex and trusting him that He knew what He was doing. He always does.
We have had many visitors, phone calls, comments and emails. I am so blessed to have so many loving, caring and real people in my life.
Jose had a few sleepless nights, my poor Honey. He is trying to be Papa, but with work is wearing down. I finally gave him a break last night and slept on the couch. He said he slept harder than he has in a long time...My poor honey!
Delayna has had issues come late night time. First of all, she definitely has her days/nights mixed up! She is doing better with staying up during the day and sleeping, but it's all in time.
Secondly, she has belly problems. We weren't sure if it was colic or gas. After talking to her Dr and going over some of her symptoms, she definitely said gas.
So Monday night, Jose went and bought a bottle of Mylocon Gas Drops (or as we are calling it, "Our Gold", that stuff is expensive!).
She did SO much better that night! She was up every 3 hours to eat, but her belly wasn't causing her to start screaming at the top of her lungs for no reason without being able to calm her down.
Well, I took some pics (then the camera's batteries died, so no more pics :-( )
Here's Delayna at 1 Week old in her outfit Monica bought her & her little Vans...Too Cute!

January 20, 2009~ A Day In History

While eveyone was watching the Inauguration, I was at the hospital having my baby! Definitely a day in the history book & extra special for the Herrera's!
For those that don't know, Jose and I welcomed our newest edition.
God blessed us with a baby GIRL!
I knew from day one that it was a girl, but there was always a chance of it being a boy. My heart was set, but still had reservation.
I can't tell you how humble I am by so much love by people in my life.
I don't have much time to get into detail now, nor do I feel like it, but I will, I promise!
Well, here are some of my favorite pics of my baby girl so far...
