ACK! I am an airhead!

I was just upstairs putting stuff into the baby's drawers and realized...
I don't have wipes...DOH!
What a retard I am man! How am I going to clean this baby's bum?!?!
Someone might comment and tell me to use wash cloths, but I don't even own a washcloth yet.
Guess I gotta remember some wipes next Monday when I go to the store.

OH, and I almost forgot to pack in the baby's bag it's Chupi's.
If this baby is anything like Dominic, it will LOVE it's chupis!
So, they are now in the dishwasher drying and will go into the diaper bag with the rest of the stuff.

Less than a week and counting...

I will be a mama of 4 by this time next week.
I had Jose take some pics of me last night. Here they are...

I took one earlier in my pregnancy from me looking down.
Here is one from last night...

UPDATE: My own worries

I had been really worried about all of the delivery/recovery/being in the hospital, etc...
Well, Monday I had my last OB/GYN appt. Afterward, I headed over to the hospital to pre-register.
*If you don't know, I have dealt with anxiety and fear since I was a child. My mom still is very bound by fear. I have over come a lot, but still deal with a lot, especially of the unknown.*
So, when I went to the hospital, I was dealing with the anxiety of "the unknown" and needing to talk to people. So, as I drove from the Dr's office to the hospital, I was praying, talking to God and listening to Air1. Just getting into the mood of 'trust'.
I got to the hospital, couldn't find parking, that did NOT make me happy! I had to park in bum 'f' Egypt (as my step-father would have said). Then I was going to have to walk, up hill, forever to the hospital...Not very happy about that!
But, I have favor! There was a little man driving a golf cart, who drove up to me & Bits and asked me if I wanted a ride. At first I asked him, "Excuse me?" I thought I heard what he said, but then thought, "why would he offer to give me a ride?" Well, come to find out, because their parking sucks, they have little senior citizens that drive around on golf carts and give you rides...How sweet!
So, he asks me if I'm having my baby today..."Um, not today. Next Tuesday." So he tells me that I want to go to the Maternity Building. Oh, I didn't know there were two different buildings. So he drops me off right at the door. Thank you!
Then I go in to these little sweet ladies in their little 'lab' coats. I tell them what I was there for and they direct me up to the second floor.
I go up & it's almost desolate and kinda scary. I find the bathrooms and hit that before i go any further and then see a girl sitting at a table with a computer outside of 2 sets of doors.
I let her know why I was there & she got me all my paper work and showed me the 'waiting room' where I was able to fill out my paperwork. Very nice waiting room, might I add! They had Sesame Street playing for Dominic. So I sat there filling out my paperwork when a couple come in. The guy had a laptop and mentioned, "Oh, it works in here too. The Wi-Fi must only be available in the rooms & waiting rooms."
So I commented, "OH, you get Wi-Fi here?" He explained to me that he gets it in the room & waiting room, like he said previously...
WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! I am gonna get Wi-Fi while I'm in the hospital. I was very worried about that!
Then we began talking. The lady is 6 mos pregnant and had a previous c-section, but wanted to do a vag birth with this one. Well, obviously it was a place I needed to be at the time I needed to be there. I was able to talk to her and really help her with her decision of what to do. She had been keeping her previous 'C' from her Dr due to her own fears. It was a nice little talk and nice to see that I was used for something positive.
Then I take my papers back to the desk, but there is another lady there. She took my papers and I was asking her a few questions. She asked me if I wanted to go speak with a nurse inside the doors. I said, "Sure, that would be great!"
So, I go through the double security doors...OOOOOOH I felt special :-)
I go back to the nurses station and speak to a really nice nurse back there. She was THE sweetest! She took me back to the room that I will be going to and explained to me that when I come in, I would be taken back to the "special prep room" and be monitored. She showed me where I would be preped and then told me how the surgery is going to go.
She then told me that after I birth and the baby is cleaned up, the father would be brought back to the same room with the baby so that they can bond. How fareaking cool is that!?!?!
I asked her the time length before I would join them. She told me about 45 mins to an hour. I told her I would be having my tubes stripped, burned, ripped out (LOL!). She said that it would be at least an hourt to 1 1/2 hours before I was taken back.
Then we talked about visitor seeing the baby before I do in the recovery room & where the nurses/Dr's stand. We agreed on a lot of what she covered. So my family won't be coming until I am settled in to my postpartum room.
Give me until at least 4pm to come and visit me, please!
She showed me out and Bits & I went on our way...
We went into the "alligator" and he said, "Mama, lets go upstairs." I wasn't going to, just because I don't do anything that wasn't "planned". But then I thought, why not, lets go see upstairs & mabye see the babies.
So, we go up to the postpartum floor. I ring the bell & the nurses buzz me in. When I walk in, I see a girl that I used to go to church with about 5 years ago. Last time I saw her, she was going to school to get her nursing license. She was always VERY sweet to me & we are always cordial to each other when we do run into each other. It was nice to see a 'familiar' face!
So, I tell the other nurse why I was there and she asked me if I would like a tour. Of course I agreed! She showed me the floor and took me into one of the rooms.
HELLO~GORGEOUS!!!! These rooms are just...WOW!
I am SO glad I decided to have my last baby in Redlands! The whole building is awesome!
She went over alot of details with me, and I was 100% on line with her.
We went over my care after surgery~she really put me at ease.
We went over my diet & my expectations~really helped me feel comfortable & not as worried.
She answered all of my questions and was an awesome nurse, just being patient with me and explaining everything I needed to know.
I walked out of there with a HUGE load taken off of my chest!
Oh, and the nursery that you used to be able to go see babies in...Yeah, no longer!
They believe in keeping the babies with the mamas, which is awesome!
K, that's all folks. Off to take the kiddos to school...

Just Because

I wanted to do some Comparison Pics...
August~5 months
October~7 months
November~8 Months
December~9 Months

On The Countdown...36 weeks=9 months

Yeah, it's official!
I am 9 months pregnant or 36 weeks exactly today...WOOHOO
I am stoked, because that means baby is here SOON, but I am sad, because this is it.
As I type, the baby is doing flips in my belly. I can see it rolling around, pushing, kicking, stretching. Somethings that you can NEVER replace or re-do unless your pregnant. Nothing a man will ever experience and something I pray every woman can experience.
Jose and I went to see Dr. Hordynski on Tuesday, the 23rd.
We talked to him about the c-section, got the date, time in hospital, and sibling rules.
So our official birthdate is....
January 20, 2009 our time is 12:00pm Good numbers (yeah, I'm a number dork!)
So I will be going and seeing Dr. Hordynski every week until I have the baby. It's only 3 weeks, but it seems so far away.
He also took me off of work. Friday was my last day. I am VERY happy about that! I am going to miss seeing the girls everyday, but physically I was getting worn down FAST!
I now get to focus on my LONG 'to do list' and get things marked off before I have the baby.
Having a date puts things into perspective.
My dad & Star came over last night and brought me a Peg Perego high chair (I secretly wanted one of these. They fold up WAY compact!), a Graco MetroLite Stroller (the baby's carseat fits in it) and a toddler carseat (I don't need another, so I will be giving this away). Very nice stuff! My friend Kindra also informed me that she will be giving me her neutral baby jammies, which I need desperately. So VERY excited about that!!!!
I think that's about it. Anthony took some pics last night of my bellah & here they are...

Ant's head "hiding" behind my bellah

Laying on my bellah

Just thought this was cool

Front View...Hey, are those abs up there!?!

That's it until another day. I don't think I will be growing too too much, but I will keep up until I have the baby!

Symphysis Pubis Disorder

Can you even pronounce that!?!
Well, I have been on a MASSIVE hunt to find out what is wrong with me and it looks like I have finally nailed this sucker! Everything that SPD describes is what I am and have been suffering with. I can barely get upstairs and then forget about climbing into bed, I need a step ladder!
So this is what SPD is...

What is Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction?
The symphysis pubis is the name given to where two bones meet at the front of the pelvis. The pelvic bone is roughly in the shape of a heart, and is actually formed by three bones, which are held together by very strong ligaments.

The bones meet to form three 'fixed' joints - at the front (the symphysis pubis) and at each side of the bottom of the spine (the sacro-iliac joints).

Normally, these joints are not designed to allow movement. However, when a woman becomes pregnant, a hormone called relaxin is produced which loosens all the pelvic ligaments in order to allow the pelvis slight movement at the time of birth.

For some reason, the ligaments occasionally loosen too much and too early before birth. This means they can't keep the pelvic joints stable so the pelvis moves, especially on weight bearing. All this is made worse by the increased weight of the growing baby and sometimes the symphysis pubis joint actually separates slightly. The result is mild to severe pain, usually in the pubic area, and is called SPD.

What are the symptoms?
The most common is pain and difficulty when walking. Some women describe the feeling of their pelvis coming apart. The pain is made worse when turning in bed or doing something that involves standing on one leg, such as climbing up stairs, getting dressed and getting in and out of a car.

The pain is generally felt in the pubis and/or the sacro-iliac joints, but can also be experienced in the groin, the inner side of the thighs, the hips and in one or both buttocks.

SPD can occur towards the end of the first trimester or after delivery. Many women notice their symptoms for the first time around the middle of their pregnancy. If you experience SPD in one pregnancy, it is more likely that it will reoccur in your next pregnancy. The symptoms may also come on earlier and progress faster, so it is important to seek help as early as possible. It can help if you allow the symptoms from one pregnancy to settle before trying to conceive another child.

What are the symptoms?
Pain in the pubic area and groin are the most common symptoms. You may also suffer from back pain in pregnancy, Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) or hip pain. It is common to feel a grinding or clicking in your pubic area and the pain may travel down the inside of the thighs or between your legs. The pain is usually made worse by separating your legs, walking, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed. It is often much worse at night and can stop you getting much sleep. Getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night can be especially painful.

How is it diagnosed?
SPD is becoming more widely understood by GPs, obstetricians and midwives. Your doctor or midwife should refer you to a physiotherapist from the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Women's Health, who will have experience in treating this complaint. It is diagnosed by a combination of your own description of symptoms and a series of tests designed to look at the stability, movement and pain in your pelvic joints.

How is it treated?
A pelvic support belt can often give quick relief. Exercises -- especially for the tummy and pelvic floor muscles -- form a large part of the treatment and are aimed at improving the stability of your pelvis and back. You may need mobilisation (a gentler form of manipulation) of your hip, back or pelvis to correct any underlying movement dysfunction. Hydrotherapy (exercise in water) and acupuncture can sometimes be useful. Surgery is only used to treat the most severe DSP cases and is often unsuccessful.

You should also be given advice on how to make normal daily activities less painful and on how to make the birth easier. Your physiotherapist or midwife can help you to devise a birth plan which takes your SPD symptoms into account.

Other therapies that may be useful include osteopathy and chiropractic but it is essential that you see a registered practitioner who is experienced in treating pregnant women.

Self-help tips

• Avoid pushing through any pain. If something hurts, if possible don't do it. If this type of pain is allowed to flare up, it can take a long time to settle back down again.

• Move little and often. You may not feel the effects of what you are doing until later in the day or after you have gone to bed.

• Rest regularly by sitting reasonably upright with your back well supported.

• Avoid heavy lifting or pushing (supermarket trolleys can be particularly painful).

•When dressing, sit down to put on clothing such as your knickers or trousers. Pull the clothing over your feet and then stand up to pull them up. Don't try to put your legs into trousers, skirts or knickers whilst standing up.

• When climbing stairs, go up them one step at a time. Step up onto one step with your best leg and then bring your other leg to meet it. Repeat with each step.

• Avoid separating your legs and making straddling movements -- such as when getting in and out of the car or bath. If you need to separate your legs, do so slowly and carefully and keep your back arched.

• Avoid swimming breaststroke if you can and take care with other strokes. Swimming can often feel like it is helping whilst you are in the water but cause an increase in pain when you get out.

• Performing regular pelvic floor exercises and lower abdominal exercises can help to reduce the strain of the pregnancy on your pelvis. To perform a safe and easy lower abdominal exercise, get down onto your hands and knees and level your back so that it is roughly flat. Breathe in and then as you breathe out, perform a pelvic floor exercise and at the same time pull your belly button in and up. Hold this contraction for 5-10 seconds without holding your breath and without moving your back. Relax the muscles slowly at the end of the exercise.

• Follow the advice in our protecting your back and pelvis article.

• You can get in touch with other women in your situation by contacting The Pelvic Partnership, a charity which was set up to offer support to women with SPD. The National Childbirth Trust also offers information and support to women with a range of pelvic dysfunctions.

How soon will I recover from my SPD symptoms after the birth?
A recent study showed that around 60% of women with SPD still experienced some symptoms after delivery. Most women find that their symptoms improve after the birth of their baby although a small percentage still have pain when their babies are a year old. You should continue with physiotherapy after the birth and get help with looking after your baby during the early weeks if you can. Some ex-sufferers find they experience pain every month just before their period is due, which is caused by hormones which have a similar effect to the pregnancy hormone relaxin.

Pregnancy Woes

Well, I am officially 32 weeks along...WOO HOO! But I have some issues...So I'm gonna wine, if only I had a block of cheese to go with it...LOL
My stomach muscles and ligaments are KILLING me! I finally found a belly belt to help pull me up, but it is still really hurting!
The other night I was trying to get into my bed, which is as high as my hips. I lifted my left leg & I immediately bent over in pain. So I tried pulling my right leg up, and ended up falling in pain...UGH!
So Jose came over and picked me up and put me into bed. I felt like such a loser...Waaa
I told him, "I don't know what I'm going to do after I have my "C", I'm really gonna need a step ladder to get into bed."
Gees, then forget about the stairs, it's either gonna be living in my room or downstairs for a month or so.
That's the end of my wine and I still don't have cheese... ;-}

29 weeks 5 days down...

10 weeks and 2 days to go, more or less.
For the most part I am feeling really well. My back and hips are REALLY starting to hurt me and sleep is getting cut due to it.
I am really trying to enjoy every moment, because I know this is my last.
Food is still a HUGE issue. I think I want something, I make it and then it's disgusting to me. I really can't eat all the much either. I am full before I even finish 1/2 of my dish. In one way it's great, but in the other it's not. I worry that my baby isn't getting enough food, but then I think that if I keep this up, then I will be looking good after I have the baby!
I am going to the Dr every two weeks now. I don't know if we will be having another ultrasound or not. I am cool with that, I just wonder if the baby is ok.
I still need LOTS of stuff, that's another post. I am trusting and believing God for my blessings and waiting, patiently!
It is SO hard not to buy anything. I want to get stuff ready, but I can't. I want to splurge and buy, but I can't. It will all come.
Well without further ado...Here's pics from last night. Dom took them, so forgive the angles on some...

4 Month Pics

Adriana took some pics of me in my "tight" shirt and jeans yesterday.
They aren't the best of pics, as she doesn't know how to wait until I say "OK, I'm ready, nor does she focus very well. But they're pics of my "bump".
I wouldn't have thought I was as big as I am if I didn't see it for myself. LOL
I will try to keep the pics updated about every month or two, depending on my "growth".
